@kimhunter2 Yes, but none of them have been found to be related to the tsunami. Looking at the locations, they are not on the west coast, but in areas east of the Island making it doubtful they made their way from Japan. But Curt Ebbesmeyer chimed in with the Japan provenance idea.

The core is kept hot by two things, radioactive decay and primordial heat left over from the original formation of the earth. The earth is cooling and shrinking. Eventually as the core cools plate tectonics will cease.
