A fairly fast moving video showing some of our rope rigging skills in action. Part ONE here shows some of the process (probably a better one for customers to view and understand), Part II will be faster moving (maybe more for other arborist/climbers). I hope you find this enjoyable. I wanted to say "thank you" to the many people that have subscribed to me and thank you for the many kind e-mails and words. I hope you find this video better than the old ones and I'm sorry it's taken so long to release a video again. (We've been very busy). Part two should be released in about 7 days after part one........ I hope.

I.S.A. certified tree worker/ Climber Specialist (TX3619T) Andrew Machuca and 24 year veteran tree climber, Max Mares of Jody's Tree Service in Temple, TX working at a job site in Georgetown, Texas. Both of these professionals competed in the 2011 Texas Tree Climbing Competition at Trinity Park in Fort Worth, TX on May 20-21.
Out of 40 competitors Max finished 29, which is outstanding for a first time competitor. Machuca finished 16th overall and came in 3rd in the throw line event. The throw line event is a timed event that tests the contestants ability to accurately place a throw line in a tree at heights between approximately 30 and 70 feet. Contestants have 5 minutes to throw a throw line through 2 of eight targets. The higher the target the more points they are worth. A throw line is basically a long string with a bean bag on the end. Tree climbers throw them into crotches of the trees, lower down the bean bag, attach there climbing rope to the string and then pull the rope up and back down through the crotch.
Jody's Tree Service has been serving Central Texas in both commercial and residential services since 1985. As arborists, they take great pride in professional tree care, tree health and landscaping and after viewing this video - you can see that they love what they do and do it well!
Hazardous Control Take Downs: strategically remove trees that are over houses or other structures
Crown Raising: properly raise canopy of lower limbs off and away from your roof, gutters, drive way etc.
Proper Mistletoe Removal: Broadleaf mistletoe absorbs both water and mineral nutrients from its host trees. Healthy trees can tolerate a few mistletoe branch infections, but individual branches may be weakened or sometimes killed. Heavily infested trees may be reduced in vigor, stunted, or even killed, especially if they are stressed by other problems such as drought or disease
Proper Ball Moss Removal: Ballmoss is most often found on the dead interior branches of older live oaks. Although it can be found on dying trees, ballmoss also thrives on healthy ones. Death may be caused by many factors, including root damage, soil compaction, construction damage, drought and disease.
Roof Clearance: Those lower limbs rubbing on your roof can do a lot of damage to the shingles. They also make it easier for squirrels and other pesky rodents to get on your roof and in your attic Jody's Tree Service will remove those lower limbs 3-6 feet from your roof properly.
Cabling: Cables are installed in trees to limit movement of limbs judged to have a weak connection or to support heavy limbs by connecting two or more limbs together. Additional support may be needed due to split or decayed crotches.
Organic Compost/Organic Compost-Tea:
Soil Rejuvenation: Soil rebuilding is vital for your trees.
Aerial Animal Rescue: They aren't only tree lovers, they're animal lovers to. If your pet gets stuck in a tree give us a call.
