Iran to launch new space mission soon
Iran's Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi has announced the forthcoming launch of a bio-capsule into space carrying a live creature.
Iran's domestically-built satellite carrier, Kavoshgar 5, is tasked with carrying the bio-capsule into space with a live creature over the next few days, IRIB quoted General Vahidi as saying on Tuesday.
Reports indicate that the launch could take place as early as Wednesday.
In March, Iran successfully launched Kavoshgar 4 rocket, capable of sending satellites and carrying live creatures into space.
As part of a plan to develop its space program, Iran successfully launched a satellite, dubbed Rassad (Observation), into the earth's orbit on June 15.
The Rassad satellite was the country's first space-based imaging device.

Iran to test life-support capsule in space
The head of the Iranian Space Agency (ISA) says Iran will test a bio-capsule capable of sustaining life in the upcoming launch into space of Kavoshgar 5 (Explorer) satellite carrier.
He said the findings of the bio-capsule studies will provide the Iranian space agency with the essential know-how in developing life support systems in space as well as detection and recovery mechanisms.

Iran Rassad sat mission accomplished
Head of Iran Space Agency (ISA) Hamid Fazeli says the country's Rassad (Observation) satellite has successfully completed its mission following its launch in mid-June.
Despite its 15.3-kilogram weight, which puts it under the category of the micro-satellites, Rassad has all features of a big satellite.

It has undergone all the stages required for its designing, manufacturing, assembly, test and preparation for launch inside the country.

It orbited the globe at an altitude of 260 kilometers 15 times per day.

Its mission was to take images of the planet's surface and relay them to Earth-based stations along with telemetric information.

The satellite was equipped with solar panels and used solar energy to operate.
