Teresa: Why wouldn't you use the magic circle at the beginning? It looks like you're struggling to get 20 hdc's in the 5 chains.

I love this pattern. It's so different. I do however think that the next one I do I'm going to use an "i" hook. I guess I crochet tight because I did the basic DC crown for a medium to large adult hat and it fits me tight. I think this hat should be a little loose and it would look better. B...
