The most frequent users of the reservations like Middlesex Fells are the dog walkers, who walk on all trails, no matter if legal or not, and usually having their dog running around off leash. They should be a concern, not just hikers/mountain bikers.

I was there that day and talked to the fire fighters. They even let the fire burn and just controlled it to get rid of non-native species. The trees mostly survived and local plants will spread out quickly again. Ashes are a good fertilizer.
