There is no way the X-15 could go 4500mph @ that altitude. Just going mach1 would shatter windows. There is just to much air density down here on terra firma, hence the higher you go, the faster you go.

If you haven't read the books APACHE and HELLFIRE, then do your self a favour and DO read them. HELLFIRE is available on itunes if you're intersted but I don't know about APACHE. Read APACHE first, just to get a handle on things.
