By the way, I have a N22959 transformer from a old Silvertone 18 radio that I used for parts. The transformer should work because the tubes lit up and no smoke odor. Let me know the status on your radio.

@neatoauctions It all depends on the transmission. My 57 chevy had a cast iron powerglide tranny. Shifting the gear selector all the way down did put the car in reverse. The hydromatic tranny, with the gear selector down, put the car in low.
