About Me:

TM Tech was founded in 1989 by a single craftsman with the intent to support other metal craftsmen.

Founder Kent White (aka "The Tinman") had been doing high-end auto and aircraft restorations for nearly 20 years when he realized that centuries-old metalworking skills were rapidly disappearing, and that new, innovative tools and techniques were needed to revive and preserve the metalworking traditions.

Today, TM produces hand tools, forming machines, welding supplies and eyewear, and instructional DVDs for metalworkers looking for high-quality ongoing support for their craft.

We also offer popular "hands-on, get your fingernails dirty" metalworking workshops, classes and seminars at our shop and off-site. Our goal is to offer high quality at a fair price and solid technical support for our students and customers.

Kent continues to do metalworking fabrication and project consultations for private and commercial aviation, automotive and cycles (including tank construction), and art metal.

TM's clients include Polaris, Honda Marine, Mercury Marine, GM Prototype, Ford Prototype, Harley Davidson, FMC, Delco Remy, Hughes Satellite, Boeing, Delta Airlines, BFGoodrich Aerospace, Toyota Off-Road, Fed-Ex, UPS, Kodak Labs, and thousands of individual craftsmen around the world.

tinmantech So many people have asked specific questions about the "How Good is your TIG Weld" video (aka "weld strength demo of oxy acetylene welding") that we've added annotations to the video that better explains the point of the video. If you haven't seen the video you might want to take a look. Hopefully this will help people new to gas welding and aluminum. - Tinman

See how a simple oxy-acetylene torch weld handles "shaping abuse" (do this to a TIG weld and you'll probably have a pile of metal scraps)...   more

tinmantech Hi Tinmantech Subscribers.
Thanks for watching! We're working on some new videos, but until we get those posted, we thought you might like to take a look at these two videos, sent in to us by one of our favorite customers, Axel Meier, who does beautiful restoration work (Classic Cars and Motorcycles) in Ruti, Switzerland. There's a Part 1 and Part 2 (look for both parts) Hope you enjoy. --the Tinman

'took me about 2 minutes to realize I was observing real talent. By the third minute, I learned something. By the 5th minute... Subscribed!

I can see clearly you're preserving a vanishing craft. Thank you for not retiring and taking your knowledge with you like so many others have done. Public schools have spent the past 2 decades forcing kids to go to college, and colleges simply don't teach this kind of stuff. You are very much appreciated!
