I just saw the movie tonight and it was amazing...sadly there were only 12 people in the movie theater with me...I guess movies being what they are tonight...it needed guys with machine guns, a few explosions, and some luxury cars hanging off cliffs to get the box office position it deserves.

I'm reading the book now (even though I'm onky on chapter two) SO SO EXCITED BENEDICT FREAKING CUMBERBATCH OWNS ALL! I'll probably sit through the whole movie expecting Sherlock Holmes to pop up somewhere XD

The movie (and novel) represent a different interpretation of the cold war than Americans are used to. That is a key reason the movie is always gray and murky, i think it is fair to say that is how London viewed the cold war and how Le Carre did as well unlike the American and Russian black and white view.

if you like your movies explained minute by minute you will like it. only complain i have out here in phoenix,az the surround sound is turned off and makes the movie drag and i didn't flinch or duct to many time which was a let down.

I've seen the BBC version of this adapted from the novel about 30 years ago. Hard to imagine that this could have been improved upon. Le Carre's novels are tough to do justice with on the screen, the intricacies and such would seem to require about a 6 hour movie. For those who have seen this, how good did they do? I will definitely go to see this, as this was one of the best of his novels. Exit question: Will they be doing the other two books from the trilogy?
