@RollaArtis you are completely wrong. It was both simple and practical. All you had to do was note the time the watch said when the sun was directly overhead. That would be local noon. The difference between that and the watch's time (which was set to Greenwich) gave you your longitude.
@StormbringerStudios, there is no tempo marking. It's supposed to be patterned after a swing band (hence the hint "Gene Krupa drums"), so in my opinion it should be like "Sing Sing Sing". Their tempo here is pretty close to that.
@pepsyboo, the genetics here are a lot more complicated than even that. Mayzie left Horton a fertilized egg, with DNA already intact. How could it possibly be an "elephant" bird? DNA transfer by osmosis?
