It's great that the US has preserved the Texas. I wish Britain had preserved HMS Warspite, which also served in both wars. All we've got left is the cruiser HMS Belfast. (And HMS Victory, of course.)

@tny0061: Not entirely. Initially, the native inhabitants of the Dutch East Indies (modern Indonesia) thought that the Japanese were liberating them from Dutch colonial rule, so they were very happy when the Japanese defeated the Dutch and their Anglo-American allies in early 1942.
