Tiffanni & co. is a fresh, innovative jazz quartet led by young Australian jazz pianist, Tiffanni Walton. Enchanting her audiences with passion and zeal, Tiffanni takes the listener on a journey of seamless moments, which are supported readily by the rest of the band. Forming in 2008, the group consists of Audrey Boyle (trumpet) and Louis Gill (bass). While playing, the ensemble radiates veracity and joy, as they constantly endeavour to spontaneously create and connect with each other.
The intention of Tiffanni & co. is on performing original contemporary improvised music, which focuses on promoting Melbourne jazz and its artists. Tiffanni guides the group through original repertoire, which explore both old and new jazz idioms. Drawing influence on current Melbourne jazz players and groups such as The Andrea Keller Quartet, Bennett Lane Big Band, Stephan Magnusson, Julian Wilson trio; Tiffanni & co. combine contemporary style with the characteristics of the old American jazz epoch. With both repertoire and personnel being heavily influenced by the traditional jazz tradition, the resonating sounds of Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson and Dave Brubeck can be distinguished in their playing and compositions.
