About this user
Hi there,
I'm worried about the direction that the world is heading to.
It took millennia for humanity to get where we are today, and I fear that we could stumble back to a time of superstition and dogma if we don't stand our ground.
The time for believing in bronze age mythology has passed, humanity must embrace science and fact based rationality if it wants to survive another century.
We can ill afford to go back to a time of Crusades and Holy wars with the destructive power of 21st century weaponry.
We must stand united against all superstitious beliefs. "My God is true and yours is False" belongs to the history books.
We need to defend secular government and keep religious indoctrination out of public education.
Theocracy has had its chance, it failed.
Secular Democracy has won the race.
Now is up to us to make sure it stays that way.
I'm an Atheist or a "God-denier" in the same way as a "Santa-denier".Both should only sound mean to children.

Some Cool Quotes:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then why there is evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
Epicurus 270 BC, Athens
In dark ages people are best guided by religion, as in a pitch-black night a blind man is the best guide; he knows the roads and paths better than a man who can see. When daylight comes, however, it is foolish to use blind, old men as guides.
Heinrich Heine
"The Bible: Because all the works of science cannot equal the wisdom of cattle-sacrificing primitives who thought every animal species in the world lived within walking distance of Noah's house."
It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly.
Albert Einstein 1954
A man's ethical behavior should be based effectually on sympathy, education, and social ties and needs; no religious basis is necessary. Man would indeed be in a poor way if he had to be restrained by fear of punishment and hope of reward after death.
Albert Einstein 1930
I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
Stephen Roberts
"The so-called Christian nations are the most enlightened and progressive...but in spite of their religion, not because of it. The Church has opposed every innovation and discovery from the day of Galileo down to our own time, when the use of anesthetic in childbirth was regarded as a sin because it avoided the biblical curse pronounced against Eve. And every step in astronomy and geology ever taken has been opposed by bigotry and superstition. The Greeks surpassed us in artistic culture and in architecture five hundred years before Christian religion was born."
Mark Twain
Lighthouses are more helpful than churches.
Benjamin Franklin
Those who believe absurdities will commit atrocities.
Voltaire
Shake off all fears of servile prejudices, under which weak minds are servilely crouched. Fix reason firmly in her seat, and call on her tribunal for every fact, every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of a God, because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason than that of blindfolded fear.
Thomas Jefferson
"We are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."
Richard Dawkins
"Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
Seneca
"I am aware of tens of millions of people having been tortured and killed in the name of various authoritarian ideologies... Fascism... Communism... Christianity... Islam. I am not aware of even a single person ever having been tortured and killed in the name of 'rational skepticism'."
DuckPhup
"We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children smart"
H.L. Mencken
"Oppose anything that trespasses on the secular line of the separation of church and state, because civilization begins where the separation of church and state begins. There are no exceptions to that in any country. So its in the general interest, as well as your own, that we patrol that line with great vigilance."
Christopher Hitchens.
"The only way to respect all religions equally is to respect none of them at all. "
