I love really well made films and live music, and do not restrict my taste to a particular genre or style. I enjoy intelligent debate but have some very strong views about social and political culture and the direction in which our civilisation is heading. There are so many divisive influences in the world created by religion, race, sexuality etc. and the concept of freedom has become a double edged sword if it is used to express prejudice and racism.
I am an atheist and feel very disappointed by the destructive and intolerant attitudes upheld in the name of a god. At the most basic level I can respect those of faith if it is used positively and promotes a tolerant and harmonious world but religion itself is being used as a weapon or an excuse for individuals to promote hatred and division.
