It's interesting that the memorial stone at the end of this clip is in traditional Chinese. Strange given that the film is about the Chinese Communist Army!! Having said that it's great to see traditional Chinese being used in a mainland Chinese film.

Though I'm not 100% sure myself, the word is that the song is about Green Island which was used to house political prisoners by the then authoritarian Nationalist government which was running Taiwan with an iron fist. That's probably why it was banned in Taiwan though not anymore of course.
