This Recycled Life is a blog for those who are seeking inspiration or simple crafts made from recycled materials, thrift store finds, or those attempting more responsible consumerism. We encourage green crafting behaviors.

The blog is updated several times a week with new ideas for inspiration, craft patterns, instructional videos, and green initiatives. In addition this blog features other recycling crafters and artists. Each posting includes details and color photos to spark interest and encourage other crafters to comment on their own recycled arts and crafts.

A couple of the most popular posts covered how to cut down a t-shirt and created crochet items like rugs, hats, and amigurami. T-shirts are even used to create birds and valentines. Another popular topic this holiday season was based on crafts from junk mail catalogs; we made gift envelopes, hanging stars and festive door wreaths.

This Recycled Life was spotlighted by a number of other sites and appeared in the USA Today's web page for the recycled wool Christmas ornaments posting. Recycling men's suits, old wool sweaters, and women's eveningwear have also been incorporated into the postings in the form of a before-and-after projects.

Many of the projects are simple and quick so that any visitor to the site feels like they too can create crafts from simple recycled materials. The overall message is that beautiful and tasteful green projects can be created by anyone.
