At 5:59 pm USA central time June 20, 2008 the Summer Solstices, sunflowers you planted, the sunflowers I planted, and the thousand other people who received seed packets, from morning in Tokyo to evening in Newfoundland will all be facing the same sun.
And so we are in fact, all in this together.
We hope that when your flowers seed you will collect the seeds and share them with an old friend you no longer have any thing in common with, or a complete stranger.

All of the seeds you received were harvested from the Sunflower Island in Minneapolis Minnesota created in honor of Margie.

In the winter of 1993 - 1994 Margie asked Mason for a sunflower. In the spring of 2007 Mason planted two hundred pounds of sunflower seeds on a small island in Loring park Minneapolis Minnesota USA.
