THEWHATWORKS

THEWHATWORKS is an international theatre company specialising in fusing performance forms from countries as diverse as India, Brasil, Bangladesh and the UK. We aim to bring together cultures and to make our performances available to audiences who do not always have free access to the arts.

THEWHATWORKS' founder and Artistic Director Imogen Butler-Cole directed sell-out runs of her first two productions: Much Ado About Nothing - a tri-lingual (Hindi, Urdu and Shakespeare's original English) promenade production in Mumbai, 2006, sponsored by the British Council; and Fora das Correntes -- a bi-lingual, highly physical exploration of the history of Capoeira, the globally popular Afro-Brasilian martial art. She is in the process of developing a third, PiNiK, a play for drug awareness, performed in Bangla, for touring around Bangladesh.

As Patsy Cole she curated, designed, directed and hosted the mini-cult success THEWHATWORKS cabaret throughout 2009-10 at CosmoBar in London's Clerkenwell.
