I really don't understand why people feel the need to say anything other than "congratulations". The birth experience was clearly beautiful, successful and empowering. This is how all babies have been brought into this world since the first person was born, whether in a tub, a bed, the woods, etc...

@mediate27 in some cultures they do it and it turns out OK. The cord dries up regardless of how you bathe them. Also, self-righteousness is derived from a sense that one's beliefs, actions, or affiliations are of greater virtue than those of the average person. Thanks for the lesson, though. :)
