@bomba50 hotwire is pretty easy on those old things. put a positive wire to the coil on the part with a plus sign, and the points shold be hooked to the other side, run a cable to the motor as your ground, boom away you go

looks like the gimbal has come loose, the trim switchs are mounted to the same piece as the pot and they are attached to the gimbal with 2 screws. did you ever get it fixed?
