Elena Borgatti founded (and has since then directed) the contemporary dance group The Simple Company as a part of Concentus Musicus Patavinus, a dance and music association of the Department of Performing Arts and Music, whose main purpose is to promote original research in all art forms connected with music. The results of the company's work, which includes laboratory and classroom activities as well as advanced body training, are regularly presented to specialized audiences in Italy and abroad. This has allowed the company to acquire a solid reputation as one of the most innovative national contemporary dance groups. Elena Borgatti already created for The Simple Company more than 100 choreographies which have obtained many rave reviews and important awards (three recent choreographies were selected by Giuseppe Carbone, former Art Director of the Scala Theatre, for the last three editions of the best Italian new choreographers gala). Elena Borgatti has published several papers and novels in Italian literary journals and the book "La diaria del danzatore" (L'Impronta Editrice, Trento, 2004). Her last choreography is "Medley", a coproduction of XIX International Festival "Abano Danza" and "Concentus Musicus Patavinus - University of Padova".

Elena Borgatti unterrichtet die Klasse für Choreographie der Universität Padua. 1997 gründete sie - und leitet bis heute - die zeitgenössische Tanzgruppe "The Simple Company", eingegliedert als Teil des "Concentus Musicus Patavinus", eine Vereinigung für Tanz und Musik der Abteilung Darstellende Künste und Musik, deren Hauptanliegen die Förderung von Grundlagenforschung - im gesamten Bereich der mit Musik arbeitenden Kunst - ist.
Die Ergebnisse der Simple Company, die gleichermaßen Forschungs- und Klassenarbeit, als auch fortgeschrittenes Körpertraining enthält, werden regelmäßig einem Fachpublikum in Italien und dem Ausland präsentiert. Dadurch konnte sich die Company eine solide Reputation als eine der führenden innovativen, nationalen zeitgenössischen Tanzgruppen erwerben. Elena Borgatti hat für die Simple Company mehr als 100 Choreographien geschrieben, die viele enthusiastische Kritiken und wichtige Preise erhalten haben. (Drei aktuelle Choreographien wurden von Giuseppe Carbone, ehemaliger Intendant des Scala Theaters, für die drei letzten Ausgaben der "Gala der besten neuen italienischen Choreographien" ausgewählt).
Elena Borgatti hat sowohl zahlreiche Artikel und Novellen in italienischen Literatur-Magazinen, als auch das Buch "La diaria del danzatore" (L'Impronta Editrice, Trento, 2004) veröffentlicht. Ihre neueste Choreographie heißt "Medley" und ist eine Co-Produktion des XIX. Internationalen Festivals "Abano Danza" und der "Concentus Musicus Patavinus -- Universität Padua".
