Probably the best way to describe DGA & The Shadowless Figures, for there is no real band. It's all a slide of hands trick collaboration by singer/musician DGA and songwriter/composer Derick Aguilar (who are one and the same person).

A college drop out, Derick studied music theory and engineering before heading out on his own to carve out a career in music. Unlike his peers, get-rich-quick is not something he's interested in. Nor is he interested in over exposure. No, Derick has bigger plans than that. He seeks a life long career in music, dreams of standing side by sides with the likes of The Beatles, David Bowie, Black Francis, and Johnny Cash. Legends, Creators, Artists who weren't afraid of standing out from the rest of the crowd. He doesn't want to replace them or consider himself equal or better than those who came before him, he merely wants his art to live on long after he leaves this life.

A fanatic of all genres of music, Derick is not afraid to try something new or something different. Genres and labels mean nothing to him. Seeing them as only limiting creativity. He does, however, stay away from current fads and trends. For they are not reliable, and come and go too quickly. Derick's in it for the long run.

To make a long story short: Derick's been in and out of garage bands since he was 16 years old, he decided early on that his name was too long and shortened it to just his initials (hence DGA), he respects the groups and artists that came before him and created music so brilliant and unique that they will live on til the end of days. All he wants is to do and accomplish, is to join them.
