I have been a church musician for 37 years, since age 15 when I took my first organist position in a Methodist church. I grew up around churches and church music: My father is a retired minister and my mother a retired organist & choral director. I was fascinated by the pipe organ from a very early age and it was a thrilling day when Mama finally agreed to let me begin taking organ lessons!
Then, in 1995, I set out on a new and totally unanticipated musical journey when I discovered the THEREMIN (or, more aptly, IT discovered ME). I became totally enraptured by this enchanting instrument upon watching the Steven M. Martin documentary about its inventor, Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey. "And the rest," as the cliché puts it, "is history."
In addition to my musical pursuits, it has just happened as a matter of course that one of my hobbies, restoring and collecting vintage and antique vacuum cleaners, has also sneaked in and made its presence known here!
