About this user
In the Astronaut Corps Frank Borman was a pessimist among optimists. While many of his peers were jubilant about traveling into space and to the moon Mr. Borman was worrying about what could wrong out there. This is likely due to Mr. Borman's role in the investigation of the Apollo 1 fire that killed astronauts Grissom, White, and Chaffee. Mr. Borman's last voyage into space put him in the history books.
During Apollo 8 Frank Borman, Jim Lovell, and Will Anders became the first humans to orbit the moon and although none of these men walked on it's surface they will forever be remembered as the first humans to visit another heavenly body.
