The Refuge meets in a theater instead of a church building. Instead of a sanctuary filled with pews, our 'sanctuary' consists of sets and backdrops, and seats that were filled with theater and concert goers just the night before. Many of our attendees are in entertainment related endeavors, or are just creative types. Aren't we all? But our purpose for meeting together in such a creative atmosphere is to connect with the One who is the author of all Creation, connect with our giftings, connect with our reason for being, connect with one another, and connect our world with hope.

Our purpose each week is to provide a creative sanctuary to worship and come together under the shadow of His wings ... without overly programmed 'church-ianity.' And leave not only having experienced refuge from the world and the complexities and challenges of life, but having experienced a dynamic worship experience, direction, encouragement, and empowerment for the cultivation of spiritual & expressive giftings that have been promised to each believer. A strong emphasis is on creativity in our music and worship and all that we do. We believe that God is the Author of all Creation...
and we seek to worship Him in spirit and in truth expressed through inspired creativity in all arenas.

Our vision is to be a center of faith & worship, encompassed by music & the arts, providing inspiration and instruction, resulting in spiritual birth and growth . . . and changing lives with the power of the Good News, both in LA and wherever we may have the opportunity in the world . . .
