a brain wave, a flash of inspiration - call it what you will but the domain me.dm (medium) just made so much sense to me - i had played with tech and gadgets and different mediums of computing in the last twenty years and realised that i needed to make a statement to myself - to have better control over this mashed together pool of resources. me.dm is at the heart of that - it pulls together all my textual, video and audio media from all platforms on the internet where i post often.

me.dm or (pronouced medium) is my personal home on the interweb. I am a Freelance webdeveloper, creative, videoblogger, mashup guy based in derbyshire the midlands, England.

I love planning and managing a team of six freelancers from around the globe using basecamp. Standalone however i am available for social media projects, creative design and consultancy.

I have fine tuned my skills at new media and have found myself to be a compulsive social networker. my new media skills encompass web development using php/mysql/zend/mvc (via my team) video productions in standard def and HD, web api mashups utilizing existing frameworks and putting together a broad social media plan companies and brands.

I have a wonderful partner sam and a wonderful daughter named ella. I am a very dedicated project manager and i love what i do, i use apple macs to work on, owning both the mac pro and macbook pro to produce my media.

This is the 3rd blog i have ever kept with my first one started back in 1999 with mutherbored.com i was a bit more angry at the world back then, later i moved onto r3wind.com (which i still own the domain for) and finally my permanent home me.dm - if you were wondering about the unique domain name it is from The Commonwealth of Dominica. I wanted something really custom for my next site that was easy to remember.

My nickname "back in the day" used to be "dangermouse" - then it was reduced to dmouse and now people call me either phil or dm. Weirdly, i still respond to dm. It was fate that i would end up with dm in my online presence somewhere after loving dangermouse as a kid, depeche mode as a teenager and me.dm as an adult to encompass all types of digital mediums - as the media changes rapidly these days i want something that covered all bases.

me.dium does that.
