Since their beginning as a duo, Jerry and Anne shared roadhouse floors, stages, live radio and studio session time with many artists including Big Daddy O, The Benji Davis Project, Bonnie Bramlett, The Olivier's, Chris Thomas King, Colin Linden & the legendary Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown.

Drawing from an array of rock influences of their generation, as well as the traditional acoustic sounds of Appalachia, Folk, Blues, Country and Ragtime, the duo began hosting Birdie's Roadhouse Open Mic in 2002 and continued through 2008. An experience they attribute to their continuing development as "late blooming" performer's, while jamming weekly with the some of the region's most talented player's, both amateur and professional.

During the spring of 2004, the Jerry & Anne officially named themselves The Petty Bones and released their debut Cd, PINE. The Cd has been featured on Roots/Americana Radio worldwide, where it continues to reach new listeners. Recorded in Hattiesburg, Mississippi & Bogalusa, Louisiana, PINE was engineered and co-produced by Steve Stubblefield-STARLINGS,TN-Between Hell and Baton Rouge (ChickenHouse Records).

In September 2004, California native, Harvey Jones, began playing regularly with the duo, and in 2007, visual artist, Charles MacGowan, joined in on bass guitar, allowing the group to expand their multi-instrumental talents on guitar, mandolin, dobro, fiddle, banjo and piano. Recent performances have also included Jude Leblanc (dobro), Spider Murphy (tenor banjo & guitar) and John Markezich (fiddle).

The Petty Bones are currently the House Band for the The Abita Springs Opry (formerly The Piney Woods Opry). With it's dedication to the preservation of Louisiana Roots music, the show is presented six times per year featuring a variety of Roots Music, with television/radio re-broadcasts on several public access networks throughout the United States.

Along with the Opry's Executive Producer - Bryan Gowland and Technical Director - Kent Birkle, The Petty Bones recently presented a series of historical "informances" in conjunction with the Smithsonian's Institute's traveling exhibit - New Harmonies-Celebrating Roots Music in America. The series was presented in St. Tammany Parish's Middle Schools and also at the New Harmonies opening receptions in Abita Springs & Ruston, Louisiana.
