Paul Collins Beat formed in 1977, appeared on the Caddyshack Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and began to tour and perform with major rock acts such as The Cure, The Police, Eddie Money, Lords Of The New Church, Joe Jackson and Huey Lewis & The News. Between his work with The Beat and his solo projects Paul Collins has recorded with artists such as Chuck Prohpet, Bruce Botnick, Octavio Vinck of The Protones, Greg Kihn, Jeff Trott guitarist for Sheryl Crow, Peter Case of The Plimsouls, Cyril Jordan of Flamin Groovies, Dave Immergluck of Counting Crows and Rowland Salley and Kenney Dale Johnson, the rythm section of Chris Isaak's band Silvertone.
Pauls first band The Nerves toured with The Ramones and funded their own recordings despite not having a record deal. The Nerves formed in 1974 and has managed to achieved cult status with the help of record collectors and reissues. Their famous EP included the song Hanging On The Telephone, which was later recorded by Blondie for the chart-topping album "Parallel Lines."
Paul Collins' Beat continues to perform around the world, concentrating primarily on the United States, Mexico, Europe, Brazil and Japan.
