Nitin Das is an independent filmmaker based out of Mumbai, India. He is currently making a feature length childrens film in the slums of Mumbai. The project combines community development, education and the creative arts in an unusual way to make a positive difference to our society.
Nitin is an alumni of one of India's leading business schools, and was working as a brand manager for Indias largest selling news magazine before he turned to follow his passion of filmmaking. He has done a filmmaking course from New York. On returning to India he set up a film production house to make Extraordinary films with Ordinary people.
The United Nations environment programme selected one of his films on Global Warming that was made entirely with the people of a small village in the Himalayas. Nitin is an Asia Society Fellow and has won a special award from the British Council for creative entrepreneurship in the social sector

Please let me know if I can in any way contribute to this noble cause. I strongly feel this needs to be taken to the next level and it should be do-able.. For example amongst the array of channels we have now, can even a few 'youth' channels telecast the 500 and Himalayan Fable on a recurring basis? This should help create awareness in the minds of our youth that you would know, form a large part of our population.. I believe we can do wonders with these many hands in multiple areas!
I am sure you would have some Community for like minded people on this; Is it represented on the web by one of the 2 URL's that appear towards the end of the 500 film?
BTW, I have favorited these videos on my orkut profile too and would be looking forward to contributing the cause in whatever small way!
