It's all made to satisfy some weird desire to make a certain noise and sound a certain way. It's nothing to do with creating a really nice bike to ride a distance or be able to depend on to last. I struggle to understand it. I meet the owners and listen to all their horror stories about all the crap that went wrong so far, and wonder why they still wear the attire? I'd a burnt mine a long time ago! Like Jimmy said, did we get hit by a "stupid bomb" I don't know but something is definitely wrong.
NHRA stands for "No harley Rules Apply" Look up the rules sometime, and see what you have to do to race against harleys, and then make a comment on it. I say race what you bring head to head, and lets see what happens then! For decades harley has been fixing the races as so to compete with antique hardware. I applaud Eric Buell, I hope he succeeds and harley fails miserably. They are sinking after the liquid cooled heads now and hydraulic clutch failures, just in time when the new Indian is out!
