Hello, I'm Rob, currently attending college at the University of South Alabama! I am triple-majoring in Meteorology, Mathematics, and Geography, as well as obtaining a GIS Certificate (Geographic Information Systems). My hobbies include travelling, languages, storm chasing, good international food, wine, working out, and getting to know people. After I graduate (May 2012) I am planning to attend graduate school at either the University of Wisconsin, Colorado State, or Plymouth State to get my MS in Meteorology.

I would prefer to get a job as a weather forecaster overseas, preferably in Europe or Australia/New Zealand. If I have to move somewhere where I have to learn a new language, then that is even better for me.

Recently I've become involved with a discipline known as polyglottery, which involves learning as many languages as you can, as well as you can.

I use a grading system developed by Professor Arguelles to grade myself on my linguistic capabilities. I grade myself in each language on a 100-point scale and assume a base of 100 for my native language, English. Scores of 80 or higher indicate that I am capable of a lengthy conversation with a native speaker about a specific, in-depth topic, and that I can freely read adult-level books in the target language (with a dictionary beside me, if necessary).

As of 2/15/11:

Spanish: 56
Russian: 16
Dutch: 14
Latin: 6

I will continue to work on the above languages, and soon begin learning German, French, and Italian.
