Ladi6s debut album Time Is Not Much took three years to record and involved some of Aotearoas premier players with the final touches applied by Fat Freddys Drops main man Mu and Parks.
Aided and abetted by her musical partner Parks, Parks is a crucial part to the formation of Ladi6s exceptional sound and captivating live show.
Time Is Not Much will be released throughout Europe and the United Kingdom on 19 July 2010 through renowned record label BBE. It has been released in New Zealand, Australia and Japan where praise has been lavished on Ladi6 and Parks.
At the 2009 Pacific Music Awards, Ladi6 won Best Pacific Female Artist and claimed the Best Urban/Hip Hop Album title at Octobers New Zealand Music Awards.
Ladi6 has rocked stages throughout New Zealand, Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom. Top that off with support slots for international performers Gil Scott Heron, Mos Def, Mayer Hawthorne, Talib Kweli, Ohmega Watts, Freddie Kruger The Roots, De La Soul, 50 Cent and Alicia Keys and its abundantly clear the New Zealand star continues to rise.
The words in demand no longer do her justice. The top-ranking soul sister has taken her Pacific style to foreign shores, performing in Australia, Europe and the United Kingdom performing a schedule of over 50 dates in the 2010 European summer.
In recent years Ladi6s sultry voice has graced tunes by Kiwi acts Shapeshifter, Fat Freddys Drop, Scribe, Opensouls, 50HZ and German producer Sepalot.
Ladi6 is not slowing down, and not resting on her laurels. Work has begun on the eagerly awaited second album, with Parks again handling production.
