Ray McKinley played on the1938 recording.This is Buddy Shutz who joined the band in 1939 when Mckinley formed a band with Will Bradley so I would say this band is 1940.

what's with the tambourine and the stuff on the hi-hat ? This is a 1930's Slingerland kit why didn't the guy play it as such with sticks so we can here the full sound.Never heard the bass drum.A few tired strokes with mallets is an insult.
