Have just found "Romeo" for the first time (on a CD I bought recently — "101 70s Hits"). Great song. Got no airplay in South Africa at the time, though; such a shame. @dibbler08 Which decade were you born in? A number of youngsters seem to say that, musically, things were better then. Very interesting. I was just a kid when this came out but nevertheless still caught the end of the sixties. Bought singles by the Shondells, Grassroots, Status Quo ("Matchstick")...

I see this got to no. 5 in the UK in October 1977, nowhere in the US, and no.19 in the South African charts in Feb. '78. Nice to hear it after all this time ! Thanks.

@m1kewithaone Actually, I'm South African, not English. Am English stock, tho' (add a little Scottish, too). My one set of grandparents moved here from England to the Cape in the '20s. I live 120 kms inland of Durban. Out here we follow both British and American music. (Best band ever = Beatles!)...
