"There aren't a lot of self-produced records I get to work on that narrow their focus, steady their aim and hit their target as dead-on as this one from The End Men. You usually get this kind of stuff around the third or fourth record."Allen Farmelo, producer at the Farm and sound engineer at Mavericks Studio, NYC
The End Men's sound combines raucous vocals, the crunch of electric guitars, soulful harmonica and awe-inspiring percussion with the theatricality of Vaudeville. Their music is a playfully mischievous rock and roll with a dark edge.
Matthew Hendershot (vocals, guitar, bass) and Livia Ranalli (drums, percussion, vocals) started this new project after their respective bands broke up (The Dead River Company and Top Ten Lovers). Jason Godbey (guitar, harmonica, vocals) joined the duo to complete the sound.
They soon turned their loft in Brooklyn, New York into a recording studio, where they produced their first EP, Build It Up.
The band's music and showmanship combine to create a dynamic and incendiary live show. The End Men have fun on stage and inspire their audiences to do the same.
In October 2010, The End Men launched The Rehearsal Space Project, a series of videos on the band's Youtube channel. This footage offers a glimpse behind the scenes of the band's live shows and recording process.
Among the artists who have collaborated with The End Men are Jeff Perkins, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Andrea Parodi, Italian singer/songwriter and Fulvio A. T. Renzi, Italian violinist and composer.
@kgbastard Hahahaha, actually, that was Liv that clicked the dislike! It was right after it was posted, she was checking the quality on her laptop... all I heard was a mumbled, "Ooops..." Hahaha.
