A thick haze covered the Montreal sky as singer/songwriter Ben Wilkins found himself perched in a tree, looking down on the city that surrounded him. Somewhere in the night there dwelt two musicians who would aid him in making the world a better place for humankind.
He found a tiny room with an antiquated honky-tonk upright piano and shamelessly began writing out songs: each one composed of lyrical vocal melodies, jazz influenced harmonies and crunchy peanut-butter pop/rock rhythms. And then in the doorway, as if drawn by the sounds, bassist Matt Wiviott and drummer Alex Dray suddenly appeared. Words were exchanged, friendships were formed and The Ease Down was born.
And so, The Ease Down lunges forward spreading good cheer and musical good vibes. They have just released their debut LP 'Shapeshifter' and are now scanning the horizon for new means of carrying their music to the dark corners of the world.
