John MacArthur: Conditional Grace to You A demonstration of the self-contradictory nature of John MacArthur's Lordship soteriology. MacArthur's "new birth" equals "total commitment" interpretation of John 3 is astonishingly bad. Perhaps more telling is how many so-called sovereign grace theologians swallow it hook, line and sinker without so much as batting an eye. Grace theology is truly at low tide in this Laodicean age. John Piper: Ludicrous Atonement Piper's view of sovereign regeneration, where God's role is decisive and our role is ESSENTIAL, is ludicrous. One wonders if Piper has ever read Genesis 11/12, Acts 9/10, Job, or any of a number of other biblical examples where his ersatz ESSENTIAL element is nowhere to be found. When I hear Piper preach this nonsense, I must admit that I am seized with the urge to by him an $8 haircut and force him to write "I am not ESSENTIAL in regeneration" 500 times on the blackboard. Then again, when you can use Millard Erikson's definition of "unlimited atonement" as a legitimate, sovereign grace definition of "limited atonement," you may be well beyond the point of correction by conventional means.
