Hello :)
My name is Gwendolyn and I am 21 years old and am from Pennsylvania. On November 1, 2004 I passed out for the first time and was diagnosed with Dysautonomia or more specifically, POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome) and NCS (Neurocardiogenic Syncope). Dysautonomia is when one's Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) malfunctions causing one's unconscious body systems to dysfuntion such as, one's heart rate, blood pressure, temperature regulation, gastrointestinal system, respiration, and endocrine system.

Dysautonomia effects me almost daily and just about 24/7. I am constantly dizzy to some degree and I always feel my heart racing (tachycardia) or beating very hard. Excessive fatigue, migraines, chest pain and tightness, nausea, and intolerance to heat are just a few symptoms of how Dysautonomia effects me personally.

For the past 5 years, I have been in and out of the hospital many many times and thrown around from doctor to doctor and even during all the doctors visits, hospitalizations, blood tests, and tests and procedures that I have had done, I do my very best to keep my head held up high and remember that I was made this way for a reason.

Besides having Dysautonomia, I also have, Ehlers- Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility and Classical), CFS, GERD, Fibromyalgia, Gastroparisis, Costochondritis, Pelvic Floor Spasms, Type II Diabetes, Hypothyroid, and Neuropathy in my legs.

But most importantly, my main goal in life is to help raise awareness for chronic and invisible illnesses especially for DYSAUTONOMIA!!!!!!!!
