DUB ENGINE è un progetto nato a Bologna (ITA) nel settembre del 2009, composto dal dub producer Nicolò Tucci aka "TUX" (programming, keyboard, dubmaster) e Sabrina Ferro (voce, melodica,FX).

Il duo affonda le proprie radici nello stepper dub made in UK, proponendo una potente miscela di sperimentazione e roots tradizionale, influenzata dalla scena dub inglese (Bush Chemists, Alpha & Omega, Vibronics, Disciples, Iration Steppas), new french-dub (Zenzile, ODG, Panda Dub, Webcam Hi-Fi, High Tone) e dub-reggae jamaicana (Lee Perry, King Tubby, Scientist).

Nel 2010 pubblicano il loro primo album di 8 brani "Dub Engine" per la net label italiana "Irie On Air" sotto licenza gratuita Creative Commons.

Dopo l'uscita del brano "Warrior In The Fight" sul sesto capitolo della serie francese di compilation stepper/electro-dub "STEP4i" prodotta da Original Dub Gathering, partecipano con il brano "Rudeboy" alla compilation "Dub Blackout", progetto nato da un'idea della label indipendente 4WEED Records e del collettivo torinese Rootikal Dub Foundation, all'interno della campagna "Spegni la censura, Accendi Blackout".

Nel 2011 la Dubatration Records, label con sede a Dijon(FR), produce il primo 7" dei Dub Engine: "Rudeboy + Version".

Live and studio project created in September 2009 by producer Nicolò Tucci aka «Tux» and Sabrina Ferro, Dub Engine is part of the last generation of dub producers who know how to feed their work with various music genres.

While keeping the uniqueness of reggae/dub music unimpaired, they tinge their sound according to the contemporary punk movement which surrounds them.
With a great complicity, the couple develops a deep music, supported by winds, strings and percussions leaning on a massive sub bass and kick drum.

The atmosphere created by the duo can sometimes remind AlphaΩ's early works, but also French projects such as Kaly Live Dub or Zenzile.

Revealed with a 8-track net-release on Irie On Air net-label in January 2010, they appeared on several compilations before signing on Dubatriation Records their first 7" vinyl release : Rude Boy
