I was in 3rd grade when this came out. It was right up there with "Mack The Knife" All the time from before Thanksgiving until after Christmas we 'd hear the radio play Mr Blue every afternoon after school.

Agreed! I used to listen in MATRIX QUAD & 100w per channel cranked up to about 61 on a scale of 100 to 0 (0 being the full twist- all the way up loud). Rattling windows next door scared the hell out of the little kids. They didn't know what to make of the quaking that crammed the snap...

Without the frenzied finale & explosion, the 3rd impression is left without purpose. Kinda like cutting short without hearing the climactic crash at the end of "A Day In The Life," or chopping out the Gong at the end of "Nights In White Satin."
