Dreamhub is the name of the chillout/ambient/electronica-project of Copenhagen-based composer and designer Kim Pedersen.Primarily Kim works with electronic and organic elements in the music, which often serves as a catalyst for the listener to delve into inner worlds and afterthoughts. The music under this project has been developed since he was invited to play at The National Cathedral of Denmark for the first time, which was in late 2008. On december 13th, 2009, Kim will perform live on national TV (broadcasted worldwide) during an official ceremony at the COP15 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will feature, amongst others, The Most Reverend Desmond Tutu.
Kim has played and composed music since chidhood and as he says: "In the recent years I have felt most comfortable with finding this ambient and meditative style and approach to composing. I really enjoy spending hours tweaking sounds, effects, chords, frequencies - and all the other aspects of composing and producing electronic music".
You can experience Kim and the "dreamhub" live once a month in The National Cathedral of Denmark where listeners often chill out on the benches. Couples, families, homeless people, tourists - anyone dropping by - are often attracted by the calm and soothing atmosphere created by the electronic adventures of the dreamhub. The dreamhub-experience is often described by listeners as really nice and calming", "fantastic", "dreamy" and "out-of-this-world".
Kim is inspired by and grateful for the influences of, amongst many others, Carbonbased Lifeforms, Bluetech, Jean-Michel Jarre, Ian Boddy, Klaus Schultze, Kitaro, Tetsu Inoue, Pete Namlook, Steve Roach, Biosphere and many many other artists! Inspiration also comes from walking in the woods, sitting by the beach, stargazing at midnight, meditating and from many years of Tai Chi Chuan practice.
So, why dreamhub you might ask. Well, we all have dreams. Dreams of going places, dreams of doing things - and for many people on this earth; dreams of a better life, just feeling safe or plainly being loved. Things which many others maybe take for granted in their daily lives. So, dreams are a common connector of people, and music is too - so why not create a kind of a hub where dreams can flow freely, minds can relax - and maybe for a moment or two - souls can find inner peace and a feeling of being safe and welcome on this earth.
Dreams can become reality - maybe even when you least expect them to. Its about keeping your hope alive and nurturing your dreams with faith. No matter who you are, and what your dreams may be, you are most welcome to join the "dreamhub.
