The Official Channel of The Rodin Academy of YouTube Video Arts and Sciences...like The Oscars for YouTube Videos!

The official channel of The Rodin Academy Awards, popularly known as The Dantes, which are presented annually by The Rodin Academy of YouTube Video Arts and Sciences (RAYVAS) to recognise excellence of both novices and professionals in the the YouTube video community, including directors, actors, and writers. The formal ceremony at which the awards are presented is one of the most prominent award ceremonies in the world. It is also the newest award ceremony in the media, and many other award ceremonies such as the Grammy Awards (for music), Golden Globe Awards (all forms of visual media), and Emmy Awards (for television) and The Oscars (for Silver Screen Cinema) are often inspired and influenced by the videos produced by the members of the Academy. The Dantes and The Rodin Academy of YouTube Video Arts and Sciences itself was conceived by Silver Aleph Films studio boss J.P. Fenyo, a.k.a. The Original New York City Free Advice Man.

The 2nd Dantes Awards of The Rodin Academy ceremony will be held Sunday, April 23, 2011, at the Hotel Infinity in Cyberspace to honor outstanding YouTube Video achievements of the previous 365 days of 2010 and 2011. It is possible that it will be hosted by actor Benjamin Kingsley if he accepts our VIP Invitation and by J.P. Fenyo.

AWARD CATEGORIES:
There are a total of 22 Dantes to be Awarded each year in exactly 8 Award Categories. The nominees are chosen by The VIP Members of The Rodin Academy from eligible YouTube videos (see General and VIP membership details below).
1. Best YouTube Video of The Year!
2. Best YouTube Video Director.
3. Best YouTube Comedy /Funny Video.
4. Best YouTube Art Video.
5. Best YouTube Short Film Video.
6. Best YouTube Solo Music Video.
7. Best YouTube Group Music Video.
8. Best Weird YouTube Video.
Plus there will be a few Special Surprise Awards for YouTube Videos!


ACADEMY MEMBERSHIP:
General Membership in The Rodin Academy is required in order to submit a video entry for consideration for nomination by the VIP Members of The Rodin Academy. Winners are decided by a total vote whereby the General Members get 50% of the total vote and the VIP Members get 50% of the total vote. To become a General Member of The Rodin Academy you must do the following:
1. You must Subscribe to this Channel and The Channel of The Free Advice Man (his channel Avatar is the first one in our Friends and Subscribers list...or simply look up user/TheFreeAdviceMan ).
2. You must CONSIDER (optional) making a Favorite of at least one video from The Free Advice Man's Channel.
3. You must not abuse or deliberate offend other members of the academy.
To become a VIP Member of The Rodin Academy:
1. You must do all of the above.
2. You must be invited by the Founder of The Rodin Academy and by one other VIP Member of The Academy!
3. You must help find and nominate all eligible YouTube videos.
4. You must vote with the Academy.
5. You must contact US about each requirement you have made and state, in clear terms, your interest in participating at any level.

AWARD WINNERS:
The winners of The Rodin Academy Awards receive each a Link to a Virtual Dante Award Statuette and an official e-letter with attached e-certificate of Official Dante Award Recognition.

SURPRISE AWARD
A Surprise Award will be given to a randomly chosen General Public Member of The Rodin Academy on March 6, 2011. To be eligible you must let us know that you are aware of this Surprise Award and are interested as merely a General Public viewer.

Hi, I'm my Big Brother Oscar's Little Brother Dante! I was named after Dante Alighieri by my original creator, the great sculptor Auguste Rodin. Of course I am only a Digital Virtual Gold Version of Dante, The Thinker, and as such I am not worth trying to sell even if you do win me! In fact in order to sell an Oscar the winner must first offer it to The Academy for $1! At least with me you do not have to fear ever losing me!
