So this is a channel dedicated to Joyce DiDonato mainly, but also to my passions. She's my favorite opera singer, and as you can see, I'm trying to collect the most possible recordings of what she sang, but I do upload videos of my favorite singers too, or songs that moved me. I'm also working on translating the videos I've uploaded, because I think it's better when you know what's going on on stage. If you don't, you can't fully enjoy the singing. So I'm adding some English and French subtitles to help you understand.
Let's say that you have a glimpse of the things I really like, and I'll be glad if you find here what you're looking for ! :-)

Oh, btw, apparentely, Susan Graham may have seen my videos from Alcina. She said she enjoyed them ! And... Joyce DiDonato knows my channel !!!

About Me:
About music... I love opera... when the singers do not forget to act ! Well, you know by now -just take a look at the channel background...- that I am a huge fan of Joyce DiDonato. I'm just totally in LOVE with this woman. She's incredible. She gives us so much. Always sincere in her work, with her public, with her art. More and more, I'm thinking that she's the best mezzo of her generation.
I also deeply admire Maria Callas, who was a wonderful singer and had a unique sense of acting. One cannot understand how great she was just by listenning to her recordings. You have to see her getting into the character, becoming another being. I cannot remember the exact sentence, but a critic said that she spoiled Tosca for those who saw her, because nobody will be better than her after what she did. I find it quite accurate : she was astonishing in Tosca. And she did spoil mine :) I didn't find a better Tosca yet.
For I deeply believe that opera is not just a matter of voice. If one wants to move the public, one has to go beyond the music and act, embody the character. If it's just beautiful voices, I get bored. Opera is the fusion of all art, music and theater above all. One should not forget that.
I also deeply loveNatalie Dessay, Angela Gheorghiu, Kathleen Battle, Miah Persson, Lucia Popp and Teresa Stratas as sopranos, Susan Graham, Frederica von Stade, Elina Garanca, Anna Caterina Antonacci, Jennifer Larmore and Cecilia Bartoli as mezzos. About men... My favorite tenor is definitely Juan Diego Florez, for his voice is both simple and wonderfully controlled. He's always amazing. I really like Rolando Villazón too. As for the baritones, Simon Keenlyside, Kyle Ketelsen and Peter Mattei.
About my favorite composers (and favorite works):
Donizetti (La Fille du Régiment, Lucia di Lammermoor)
Bellini (La Sonnambula)
Rossini (Il Barbiere di Siviglia, La Cenerentola)
Mozart (Don Giovanni, Die Zauberflöt)
Massenet (Manon)
Puccini (Tosca: my favorite opera of all time!)
Handel (Hercules, Alcina)
Berlioz (Béatrice et Bénédict)
About my favorite arias:
... and much more, but the list would be way too long!
