that scope looks pretty high. Does it line up when you weld your cheekbone onto the stock, or do you have to slide your jaw up the stock to get it to line up?

a 4 jaw chuck would be better, then you can indicate off the mandril, and get everything squared up.

timing and torque are irrelevant with a short chambered barrel with no sights.

it simply doesn't matter how the barrel is lined up, as long as it is tight.

as for torque, that is up to you, and what you are comfortable with.

if you do not understand the requirement of tightening the receiver screws to a specific torque, for accuracy, they you, of course will not understand why you would want to do this.
