I'm in the unenviable position of despising religion, all religion, especially phony, new age, litteraly pulled this out of my ass a week ago and am already trying to find some distorted unrelated science to confirm it, but not hating the religious. I believe that what your religion is, says as much about you as what your race is. there are certainly cultural conatations, but every human being on earth should be judged by their own actions, and since religion is so open to interpretation, you can never tell what those actions will be just by knowing thier religion. Religion cannot sujest or excuse any kind of action. If you do or don't do it, your acountable for it. Always subjectively.

Saying that it's ok for a man to kill an abortionist because an ancient book told him to, is equally as disgusting and morally bankrupt as saying, it's ok to rape children because you were abused as a child, this is a reason, not an excuse. In fact, if you think about it, it's the same reason.
