The 4th Estate is the watchdog over the three other estates. Back in 16th century France there were three ruling classes: the first estate (the nobles or today's government), the second estate (the clergy or today's church leaders who give contributions to the government) and the third estate (the bourgeois or business/middle class) who owned the industrial shops where the proletariats (working class) were put in inhumane working conditions. Next thing you know, a revolution happens, things change...the people demand the power back from the ruling classes and the enlightenment begins. The 4th Estate is the voice for the proletariats. A media where people can be heard, empowered and inspired.
