Ukulele from Holland
About Me:
My first goal with this channel is to promote the ukulele. In Europe it differs per country in popularity and in my home country Holland, it still isn't really big. At the moment I started playing I simply didn't know anyone, who played the ukulele in my hometown.
Together with some good friends, we are now promoting the ukulele in our hometown, with the ukulele club Uke & Duke and by organizing workshops.
The next goal is to show, how every kind of music can be played on ukulele. Not just the Hawaiian music or twenty's Jazz. Not just the more simple kids stuff. I try to show that good old Rock and Roll, Blues, sophisticated instrumentals. ballads and so on, are really good to be translate to ukulele music.
But now the real news. With my good friend Andre, we started the duo The D'Ukes!
The name? We live in the Dutch place 's-Hertogenbosch, wich is also known as Duketown. We are two older Dudes, playing the Ukulele. We participate in the Uke & Duke. Do your maths.
