I am a senior at Classen School of Advanced Studies and Performing Arts in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Throughout my 14-year singing career, I have been blessed with a plethora of accomplishments on a local, state and national level. Most recently I was featured as a Top 46 contestant on American Idol. I have performed with a myriad of professional singers such as the CLARK SISTERS, NIKKI ROSS, MARVIN SAPP, RANCE ALLEN, THE BOLTON BROTHERS, BETTY NELSON, & KATRINA ELAM. My musical influences include: Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Jennifer Hudson, Israel & the New Breed, Kirk Franklin, Kikki Sheard, Avalon, Martha Munizzi, and Mary Mary. Since junior high school I have competed annually in All-State winning both District and State Solo/Ensemble Competitions consecutively. I was also in the Lawton Christian School Honor Choir for 2 years winning the Dallas All-Star Competition, Gospel Idol in Tulsa, OK, Searching for the Stars in Marlow, OK, Texoma Idol in Lawton, OK, Shining Star at the Church of God In Christ National AIMS Convention in Kansas City, MO, K98 Radio Talent Show, Schubert Musical Festival Federated Competition (musical theater solo 3 years), Schubert Musical Festival Federated Competition (vocal duet and solo 2 years), and received superior ratings (including best tenor award) at the 2009/2010 Oklahoma All Region, OMEA All State and Jazz Choir. I have participated in Band with a Mission Artist Showcase (Nashville, TN), GMA MIR solo artist competition (Estes Park, CO), and sang the National Anthem for several NBA/CBA games, semi-pro baseball Redhawks games and celebrity baseball tournaments. Last April I won the American Idol Experience Competition at Disneyworld in Orlando, Florida.
Since returning home from Hollywood, California and competing on American Idol I have been interviewed by various media outlets (television and commercial radio). I have received commercial radio airplay with KMGL Magic 104.1; KKWD 104.9, TJ, Janet & Jrod in the Morning KJ 103/KJYO-FM (OKC, OK), KLAW 101.3 and 107.3 (both Lawton, OK), WXLK K92 (Roanoke, VA), radio station in PA, and television on air time with KOKH Fox News Channel 25 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I am scheduled to host the morning show next Wednesday on Fox News and will be featured in the upcoming American Idol Magazine due out this summer.
