Vanessa's brilliant keynote address at the 2009 Illinois Transgender Day of Remembrance continues in this segment with further reflection on her participation in the earliest days of this annual memorial for victims of unprovoked, fatal acts of what could be well described as "cultural assassination".

Chair) for the sole purpose of raising public awareness to the ongoing problem of senseless violence which is inflicted upon individuals whose public image may be perceived as "gender-variant".
