scotch whisky review 145 - Johnnie Walker Red Label (1960's V 2010)
an interesting comparison of two generations of one of Scotch whiskies most enigmatic brands, and the top selling Scotch Blended Whisky in the World.

This kind of comparison holds true for Bourbon here in the States. The OLD Weller whisky is far superior to the current Weller, which is made by Buffalo Trace. They have mostly preserved the labels, but it's a very different product.

I just came across a reference to Charles Kuralt. As a person who also suffers from autoimmune disease, this is personal. Of course, the reference to Clarence Day is the thing that puts this over the top. The kids who might stumble upon this won't remember Charles and they CERTAINLY won't rememb...

@hanksnow82 So anything that we didn't do in the past should not be done now? As it turns out, civil marriage did not exist in Europe until relatively recently. Sounds "special". This choir sings with a more full-throated sound than many English peers. In Westminster Abbey, a 30+ voice choir likely would sing this with more finesse. I have soloed in this at Incarnation (Episcopal) in Dallas and our style was a little quieter.

The organ is a Skinner. The Cathedral announced two winners for construction of separate instruments, with one sounding down the Nave from the West Gallery to ease congregational singing.
